Actually, that is just her name.
I came home from the gym, and in my mailbox, I found this.
Ok, well, it's just plain Chargrill. She's also known as Char, Charizard...Phil and I once built a "Yum Char" when she couldn't come with us.
Yes...we are children.
And just to drive that point home...
Honey Joys.
My Chargrill put Honey Joys in my mailbox.
*swoon*
I also swoon because I have never made them before in my life.
I also may or may not have eaten (almost all of) them while reading one short story from Nam Le's The Boat.

I really enjoyed The Boat! Well, enjoyed might not be the right word, but it was very interesting.
Ha! I'm reading that book too. And by "am reading", I mean that I read the first 1 1/2 stories last week while I was without internet.
I had been dying to read it for ages, and finally, my housemate came home with it from the bookstore he works at because it was damaged.
So happy about reading it at the moment. What do you guys think of it?
I love you too lady. :)
I thought it was really great! It's a really interesting mix of things that are incredibly urgent and important, and other things that are a bit mocking, like ‘It’s hot,’ a writing instructor told me at a bar. Ethnic literature’s hot. And,’ he adds, almost as an afterthought or an attempt at political correctness. ‘Important too.’ (I can quote that because I used that quote when I blogged about it, not because I'm quoting from it especially)
I found the questioning of authenticity quite interesting, as he writes about in several stories, which I won't talk about further so I don't spoil later stories for you. :o)
Have you read Growing up Asian in Australia?
No, I haven't. But, it does sound like you read Peril magazine.
:P
